Alcohol Consumption Research Proposal

¶ … Binge drink can lead to alcohol poisoning Sampling

The present study is conducted in relation to the binge drinking's effects towards alcohol poisoning. The binge drinkers are individuals that take an excessive amount of alcohol at a given point of time and gradually it becomes their habit to take large amounts of liquor. It is also noted that due to binge drinking the likelihood of increased expenses for regular liquor intake the young individuals also tend to save some expenses through using Methanol alcohol. The use of excessive alcohol and its relationship with using sub-standard alcohol is also a dependency. The low quality alcohol consumption can also be attributed towards increased chances of alcohol poisoning. Therefore, the relatedness of money as alcohol is not a cheap commodity can lead to a potential problem regarding alcohol poisoning.

The current research proposal is based on the hypothesis that binge drinking can lead to alcohol poisoning. The primary research objective is to identify the potential linkage as well as the consequences of binge drinking. Furthermore, the research is also focused to identify the medical techniques available as a cure for health damages. The following sections provide the problem background, review of the related literature, and highlight the research design adopted to complete the presented proposal.

Background:

The young individuals are usually unaware of the consequences posed by binge drinking. They are attracted towards extensive alcohol drinking due to multiple social and situational factors as discussed in detail in the literature review. The binge drinkers also have a potential element of facing financial constraints for satisfying their needs leading them to use Methanol alcohol. The potential damages of binge drinking related to death and severe poisoning is considered in the present research.

Literature Review:

The linkage of high mortality rate as a cause of circulatory diseases is also investigated in the work. The cardiovascular disorders are regarded as misclassified cases of acute alcohol poisoning. However, the relatedness of the cardiovascular mortality and alcohol consumption is identified in the work as somewhat interdependent. The research identifies that the work required to appropriately link alcohol with mortality increase requires further research. The qualitative controlled research design is adopted in the study with some interviews. Furthermore, it is that the work has a limited generalizability since the data collected is to Izhevsk, Russia.
The young aged binge drinking is as a basis of the work. The research also defines the influential factors related to increase college drinking. The reasons for excessive drinking are not only related to affordability and encouraging environment in the college. It has widespread reasons ranging from genetics, parental controls, campus norms, and penalties for underage drinking. The work is significant in terms of identification of the results of excessive alcohol drinking in college students with respect to the effects on nondrinking college students. The excessive drinking habits result into memory blackout, missing classes, lower grades, injuries, changes in brain functioning, and death. The study has taken a large sample of 10,424 first-semester college freshmen students and found that the more than 50% of the male and 33% of the females fall on the threshold of binge drinking. The research strengths are the detailed work for identifying consequences of binge drinking including death (White, & Hingson, 2014).

According to Bissett, Wood, Cox, Scott, and Cassell (2013) effective communication is the primary requirement for increasing awareness in young people regarding the drawbacks of binge drinking. The computer-based tool is to provide the required awareness for young binge drinkers and create a shift in attitude and behaviours. However, the effectiveness…
